Tape Worms & Weight Loss

September 7th, 2009

There was one famous opera singer years ago that gave some the idea of tape worm pills.  Maybe it’s an urban legend, maybe it’s a fact.  But in her earlier years, she was quite a big lady, many would even dare say obese.  But suddenly she thinned out to almost anorexic levels, and nobody knew exactly why.  So the story goes that apparently she really loved to eat raw meat.  It’s unusual to say the least, and quite frankly, it could be easily said that it’s extremely unhealthy.

But they theorize that somehow in eating one of those meats, it happened to be contaminated to a larger degree with tape worms.  As a result, she of course ended up having tape worms, mostly associated with animals in our day.  But these continued to eat basically all the calories she was eating, leading to extreme and serious weight loss without actually forcing a change in lifestyle.  The problem with this is that though you lose weight, there is of course a limit to it all.  You have to stop at some point, and unfortunately just because you reach your goal weight and you want them to stop, tape worms don’t suddenly die off.  If anything they reproduce and actively get stronger.
