My best friend from high school recently dropped 100 pounds in about the space of a year. For him it was apparently effortless. He had a job that required him to walk around a lot, and he finally figured out that he wasn’t eating that healthy. He always blamed it on genetics before, and his doctor fueled that actually giving him an excuse. However, he started eating healthier foods and cutting out all the fried foods.
We would still go out, and every once in a while he would still get a burger and fries. But for the most part, he kept himself on track, only slipping up truly every once in a while. But really, if you have more than 100 pounds to lose, chances are your body’s metabolism is already working overtime, and therefore it will actually help you to lose more weight if only you behave yourself just a little bit. But all of that aside, now he lectures his brother. But his brother’s like he was.
He wasn’t ready at that time to change his life. He isn’t even ready to admit that chances are he isn’t actually doing the right thing, eating through healthy habits. So you realistically can’t push it. You just have to wait until he’s actually ready to do it for himself rather than because he’s bugged by you.
